Born Lonnie Rashid Lynn in Chicago on March 13, 1972, Common rose to prominence as one of hip-hop’s most poetic and respected lyricists, having garnered multiple Grammy Awards for his first eight albums. Common’s ninth, The Dreamer, The Believer, will be released in December by Warner Brothers Records.

In 2004, he partnered with fellow Chicago native and rap music mega-star Kanye West to produce the album BE, which went on to garner four Grammy Award nominations. Three years later, Common released his critically-acclaimed seventh album, Finding Forever, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Album Chart and went on to earn him another Grammy. His eighth album, Universal Mind Control, was released in 2008 and was nominated for a Grammy in the category of Best Rap Album.

Common’s film credits include “Smokin’ Aces,” “American Gangster,” “Wanted,” “Terminator Salvation,” “Date Night” and “Just Wright.” In addition, he is set to co-star opposite Jennifer Garner next year in “The Odd Life of Timothy Green.”

On TV, Common enjoys a recurring role on the AMC Network series “Hell on Wheels.” He plays Elam, a freed slave who heads West in search of work on the Transcontinental Railroad in post-Civil War America.

November 29, 2011, New York, NY – The Royalty Network, one of the top independent publishing companies in the US, has secured a spot for Pitbull’s #1 Billboard Hot 100 track, “Give Me Everything,” in the promo trailer for the major feature film, New Year’s Eve. The song was co-written with Royalty Network writer and Grammy Award winning music producer Afrojack, who is also featured in the song.

 

“Give Me Everything” is the second single from Pitbull’s most recent release, Planet Pit, which reached the #7 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart.

 

Afrojack, currently one of the hottest new producers/writers, is also credited on Beyonce’s hit single “Run The World (Girls)” as well as his own charting single “Take Over Control,” which was #1 for six weeks on Billboard’s Hot Dance Airplay chart.

Recently, I had a question come into my box I found very interesting. The person was curious why the shampoo she was using still generated lather, despite the fact that it did not contain sodium lauryl sulfate or sodium laureth sulfate. I immediately thought “Oh! What a wonderful topic for an article this month!” I thought we could discuss the nature of bubbles, lather, and foam, what causes them to occur, and what ingredients are likely to enhance or minimize their formation.

Imagine my surprise when I started doing a little research to refresh my understanding of bubble formation and found this topic to be an area of much intense research, most of which seemed to be far over my head! Many physicists, astronomers and chemists devote their entire lives attempting to develop a fundamental understanding of bubbles, foam, and lather. So, while feeling a little daunted, I decided to carry on and do my own rudimentary analysis of the subject.
