Hip-Hop Legend/Icon, Ralph McDaniels (Video Music Box) celebrated his birthday at The M1-5 Lounge in New York City, Wednesday, February 29th with The Video Mix Party Crew (Ralph McDaniels, DJ Wiz of Kid N Play, Dana Dane, The Awesome Two, BIG CED and DJ Vern). In attendance were Grand Puba (Brand Nubian), Lil Fame (M.O.P.), B Fats, Luv Bug Starski, Free (Entouch),Vincent Davis (Vintertainment Records), Dana Dane, Gravy (Jamal Woolard), Ronnie Wright, Ernie Paniccioli (Hip-Hop Historian Photographer), Ken Murphy, D- Mitch, Kenya Smith, Datwon Thomas (VIBE.com), Butta L, Hot Dog (Chubb Rock), Seed Popular (Rule 4080) and a host of others I may have forgotten.

Disclaimer; This is NOT a post about basketball, just hear me out…

Ok… So we’ve all been hearing this name, Jeremy Lin. In his first game he hit the Nets up with 25 points and 7 assists. About a week later, he hit Kobe and the Lakers with 38 points and 7 assists. The next day, he attracted enough viewers to have the highest rated game on MSG since Carmelo Anthony’s February 2011 debut with the team. Jersey sales went up. Ticket sales rose. Merchandise, in general, experienced a significant mark up. Twitter generated #JeremyLin as a trending topic. And then (as expected) we heard his name less and less. Now we don’t hear it nearly as much. Part of that has to do with the fact that the Knicks haven’t played much (if at all) since the All-Star break.
