ROYALTY NETWORK ANNOUNCES REGGAE SENSATION I-OCTANE TO JOIN ROSTER 

New York, NY (April 2, 2012)- The Royalty Network, one of the top independent publishing companies in the US, is pleased to announce the addition of hit Reggae songwriter and recording artist I-Octane and his Byiome Muir Music catalogue to their roster.  I-Octane joins The Royalty Network’s ever growing catalog of producers, songwriters and artists featuring hits from the likes of Beyonce, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, Coldplay, Shaggy, Black Eyed Peas and Flo Rida.

Some of you can relate. Some of you will have to imagine. But paint this picture in your mind. It’s the big game. The team is in the locker and they can feel the electricity in the air from the packed house of people waiting to watch. Some players are off on their own down on their knee saying a prayer. Some players are sitting still with their eyes closed with headphones on. Black Boys in Detroit School Stage Walk Out to Protest Their Bad Education

Something remarkable happened in Detroit this past week: dozens of students at the all-male Frederick Douglass Academy walked out of school together to protest the depressingly bad education that they have been receiving at this public school. The students claim that teachers are consistently absent, the school leadership is in disarray, they don’t have enough textbooks and so many of them have been left unattended by teachers calling in sick that dozens of students regularly gather together in the cafeteria and other common areas because they have nothing else to do.

The protest is taking place in a city that is viewed as one of the worst urban school districts in the nation. On the first day of school this year in Detroit, the attendance rate was 55 percent!
