Olympian Angelo Taylor Aims for His Final Finish Line

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usAfter competing in the 2000, 2004 and 2008 Olympics, two-time gold medalist Angelo Taylor is steadfastly preparing for his last Olympic bid.

The 33-year-old track and field star who brought home Gold medals in the 400-meter hurdles in the 2000 and 2008 Summer Olympics says he is ready to hit the track one more time and bring home the Gold for his team and his country. “There’s been a lot trash talking on the circuit about how the US is going down this year,” he said, “so I’ve got to be out there to play my part.”

Taylor achieved his first major track and field breakthrough at age 21, when he earned an individual Gold medal out of lane one in the 400 meter hurdles and a team Gold medal as a member of the 4×4 relay at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia. He matched his 2000 breakthrough by winning double Gold medals in the 400mh and 4×4 relay at the 2008 Olympics.

He is currently preparing for the qualifying trials in Eugene, OR, in June to join the U.S. team at the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London. According to his manager, Kimberly Holland of Icon Management, only Taylor and legendary Olympic athlete Edwin Moses have ever won Gold medals 8 years apart. Taylor aims to make history by winning his third Olympic Gold medal.

At 33, Taylor has several years experience over his colleagues and his competitors. Holland says that since working with Taylor, she has known him to always lay everything out on the track and give 100 percent to the end, that he is a true soldier.

Even though this is Taylor’s last Olympic contest, Holland says he will continue to participate in other competitions. Let the games begin!
