Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell the “King of Bass” will be rightfully representing Miami Bass, at the East Coast debut of the Red Bull Music Academy Culture Clash backed up by DJ Nasty and none other than the 808 King himself, Mr. Mixx. The Red Bull Music Academy Culture Clash will take place during Miami Broward Carnival, on Sunday, October 7 at Sun Life Stadium.
During the Culture Clash, Campbell and his team will compete against three other collectives to determine what genre of music represents Miami the best. His competitors include: Bobby Chin & Fly Guy in the genre of Reggae/Guyanese, Beauty & The Beats with House Arrest (Alicia The Duchess, House Arrest and DJ Private Ryan) in the genre of Soca/Calypso, and Soulfritto DJ Collective (DJ Africa and DJ Mr. Pauer) in the genre of Latin.
The format of the show will be broken into four rounds; the crowd will vote after each round based on a series of criteria that include their applause and cheers being measured by a decibel meter that will determine the winner.
Most recently, Campbell participated in an incredible performance of “Pop That,” with French Montana and Puffy on the BET Hip Hop Awards which airs on Tuesday, October 9th @ 8PM EST/7PM CST. In early 2013, Campbell, a lover of sports, will be launching a program that caters to athletic youth called “Hard Lines.” “Hard Lines” will give youth, parents, and the community an opportunity to learn the hard facts and realities of careers in Sports & Entertainment. The event will take place during NBA All-Star Weekend in Houston’s Third Ward on Saturday, February 16.
