The Gospel Music Association (GMA) announced today the return of the legendary GMA Dove Awards to Music City for its 44th year of honors. For the first time in Dove Awards history, Gospel music’s biggest night will take place in the fall. This year’s show is on Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at 8 p.m. EDT, at Allen Arena on the campus of Nashville’s historic Lipscomb University and will be nationally televised on GMC TV.

TO KICK OFF ITS 

1ST ANNUAL XTREME PERFORMING ARTS SUMMER CAMP

Program seeks to help develop youth into the superstar entertainers and professionals of tomorrow.

Atlanta, GA (May 1, 2013) – Arrow Global Entertainment is excited to announce its 1st  Annual Xtreme PerformanceArts Summer Camp taking place this summer. Created through the partnership of SESAC and platinum recording artist Sammie’s non-profit organization, Sammie’s Youth Foundation, the camp aims to educate and inspire Atlanta-area youth through singing, songwriting, dancing, and recording arts instruction.  The program will also include fitness classes, field trips to regional points of interest, celebrity guest appearances, and camp participation from Sammie, Dondria, and Jacob Latimore.

The Xtreme Camp’s programs are specifically designed to aid young people who are interested in the arts to hone and broaden their skills and give them the tools they need to pursue careers in their chosen fields.  This initiative also seeks to empower its students by exposing them to positive role models and experiences.  Arrow’s executive general manager, Cappriccieo Scates, says, “The camp gives us an opportunity to positively impact the future of music, which is our overall goal.”

BISHOP LARRY TROTTER ANNOUNCES HE HAS PROSTATE CANCER

Chicago, IL (Tuesday, April 30, 2013) —Bishop Larry D. Trotter- Senior Pastor of the Sweet Holy Spirit Church of Chicago- recently announced to his congregation and associate churches that he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer and will undergo surgery on May 22nd. The initial diagnosis came during Bishop Trotter’s annual physical in March of 2013 and was confirmed by tests. Doctors have informed Bishop Trotter that the cancer is in its earliest stages and that his prognosis is good. “Thanks to routine screening this was diagnosed early and I expect a full and speedy recovery,” says Bishop Trotter. Trotter adds, “After reviewing all the options with multiple physicians, I decided to take a proactive approach and have surgery.” “Additionally, I am encouraged that God will heal me of this as he has done other illnesses in the past. Sweet Holy Spirit Church and friends are fighting with and for me…I KNOW A MAN”.
