NASHVILLE, TN (May 2, 2013)– Motown Gospel is pleased to announce the signing of celebrated artist Micah Stampley. Known for his worship-filled style and stunning vocal range, the Atlanta-based singer/songwriter came to national prominence in 2005 with the release of the critically-acclaimed album The Song Book of Micah. That project, which was released on Bishop T.D. Jakes’ Dexterity Sounds/EMI Gospel label, featured the instant smash, now classic anthem “Take My Life.”

Motown Gospel Signs CeCe Winans as first artist

Gospel recording artist veteran star CeCe Winans has become Motown Gospel’s first signing, with her inaugural Motown Gospel album. This will also mark Winans’ first record in five years which is not set for release early next year.

Also on the roster are Detroiter Kierra (Kiki) Sheard, Smokie Norful, Tye Tribbett and Tasha Cobbs.

Barry Weiss, chairman and CEO, Universal Music Group East Coast Label Group says the new label will also tap into the promotional resources of Motown Records, whose current roster includes Ne-Yo, Erykah Badu and Kem.

As the first major star to join the roster of the newly revitalized Motown Records, multi-platinum, three-time Grammy Award-winning artist NE-YO moves into the next phase of his career with “Let Me Love You (Until You Learn To Love Yourself),” the new single pick from his new album, R.E.D., arriving in-stores on September 18th.  “Let Me Love You (Until You Learn To Love Yourself),” launches globally today and officially impacts at Pop and Rhythm radio in the weeks ahead .
