When loved ones pass away, it is never an easy thing to comprehend, wrapping your head around life’s one inevitability, one constant, brings little solace. Death is something we all experience in some form of fashion and it is personally inescapable. No one can avoid it and each passing seems to take a little piece of us as a result. However, the wonderful blessing of music reminds us of the person that was and shall always remain etched in our respective memories. Read more of this post

Busta also has a banger with Cam’Ron, and The Game yes, The Game has a new joint with a Bone Thuggz type feel that’s dope. Arrested Development Celebrates 20 Years & Still On A Mission –
August 6, 2012 – A Free Album And A Feature on TV One’s UnSung
(July 25, 2012 – Atlanta, GA) – It’s been exactly 20 years since Arrested Development (AD) bursted upon the scene with a trailblazing debut album, “3 years, 5 months & 2 days in the life of…” – Hip-Hop music mixed with soul, blues and funk. The group coined their style “Life Music,” music that would win 2 Grammy awards in 1993 for Best Rap Single (Tennessee) and the coveted ‘Best New Artist’, which AD is the first and last in the Hip-Hop genre to win. NAACP & Don Cornelius’ Soul Train awarded them as well with Rolling Stone Magazine crowning AD Band of the Year and VH-1 named AD one of the Greatest Hip-Hop Artists of All Time.
True legends in the game, they opened the doors for groups like – The Fugees, Goodie Mob, OutKast, Erykah Badu, India Irie, The Roots & Black Eyed Peas encompassing a mix of men and women with consciousness, melody & live musicality. There was a time when rappers weren’t accepted singing. It could be argued that without Dionne Farris’ soaring vocals on Tennessee, would the world have received the young Lauryn Hill crooning on hip-hop songs like “Killing Me Softly”?

Peoples “What Up Doe”? Another great weekend besides being still under the weather. But had a blast at the Ultimate Sports Bar on Friday with all the costumes. Then rocked at a standing room only crowd at Babs Underground Lounge. Shout to everyone who banged from the being to the end, cause I never seen a empty spot in the place. Then if that wasn’t enough hit The Blind Pig on Sunday with Talib Kweli and Idle Worship. Also got to rock with legendary Ann Arbor/Detroit MC Invincible during her set. And shout to Greg Burke because Kadence was in the building and he ripped the stage during his set. Catch me after The Prop Shop from 1 to 2am on www.987ampradio.com Killing the club music. After years of much anticipation, the Southern California hip hop trio Pac Div are set to release their debut album, “The Div”, on November 8, 2011, through a joint venture with RBC Records. The album is already being touted as a classic, with production from No I.D. (Common, Kanye West, Jay-Z, Drake, Rick Ross and more), Swiff D and the group’s very own, Like, and features from long time friends, Bleu Collar, Asher Roth, Casey Veggies (Sleeping in Class”), Tiron and Skeme. “The Div” is by far one of the best collections of the who’s-who of emerging artists.
Pac Div consists of two brothers, Like and Mibbs, and long time friend, BeYoung. Formed in 2005, while still in the high school, Pac Div was originally an eleven-member crew that shrank to three when it became apparent that a group of that size just wasn’t feasible. . While most young rappers were under the spell of “microwave” music, these three were doing their hip-hop homework, studying rap’s pioneers, honing their skills and developing their own styles. From their music to shows to videos, and unique approach to creating, the group proves to showcase undeniable talent in everything they do. Read more of this post
