“When UrbanSalonNetwork.com launched 7 years ago, it was out of necessity. As a business woman, I was frustrated with traveling to new cities and not knowing where to find the nearest beauty salon specializing in Black Hair Care,” said Founder Rita Owens. “At the time, there were not many resources for locating Black Hair Salons; the only option was to sift through the phonebook and inquire. I clearly recall an incident where I contacted a local salon who assured me they could do ‘Black Hair,’ only to leave the salon looking like Sideshow Bob! Unfortunately, this situation is not uncommon.”
