Funny how time flies when you are having fun. Just two years ago, the November massacre occurred in Washington, DC and the Congress, bring in a flock of freshmen tea part republicans vowing to change the political as usual mantra inside the beltway.I guess some folks can talk a mean game, especially when they just talk out the side of their necks. It was just less than two years ago on November 22, 2010 when the House Republicans Vote to End Earmarks. It was supposed to be an important first step toward fundamentally changing the way taxpayer dollars are spent in Washington” since a large corpus of US citizens see earmarks as wasteful spending and another form of corruption. At the time, Doug Lamborn (CO-05) wrote on his webpage, “The new House Republican Majority is firmly committed to cutting spending, reining in government, and listening to the people who sent us here. We have an enormous task ahead to get America’s fiscal house in order. Today’s vote to end earmarks is proof that Republicans are serious about ending wasteful spending.” He added, “I call on my Democrat colleagues in the House and Senate to get equally serious about reforming Washington and pass their own earmark bans. The task before us requires a bipartisan commitment to reform.” Read more…

By NICK CHILES

The state of New Jersey is currently debating a bill that would create “graduated licenses” for teenagers, which add more safeguards and restrictions to the process of acquiring a license for 16-year-old drivers. While there is some opposition in New Jersey, these measures have been passed in many other states around the country, including Georgia, where I live, and let me tell you, they make a huge difference for parents. I am an unequivocal supporter of anything that makes teenagers more cautious and conscientious when they get behind the wheel.

First of all, you can’t argue with the statistics. A story in the New York Times, quoting numbers provided by the New Jersey Teen Safe Driving Coalition, says that with teenage drivers, a single passenger raises the risk of a crash by 50 percent and doubles the risk of a driver dying in a crash; three passengers increase the risk of a crash by 200 percent. Most graduated license laws, such as the one we have here in Georgia, prohibit 16-year-olds from driving with another teenager in the car for at least six months. In the second six months after they get the license, teens can’t have more than one other teen in the car. A year after the license, teens still aren’t supposed to have more than three other teens in the car. Read more…

ROYCE DA 5’9” is pleased to announce that he will embark on a solo tour throughout Canada from Thursday, February 9, 2012 to Sunday, March 4, 2012 in support of his critically acclaimed solo release, SUCCESS IS CERTAIN.  Directly after, he will hit the road with his SLAUGHTERHOUSE wrecking crew in support of their upcoming Shady Records debut, WELCOME TO: OUR HOUSE, due for release on May 15th.

2011 was an exceptionally good year for the “bad” half of Detroit’s own Bad Meets Evil featuring ROYCE and his partner in rhyme Eminem. Last summer they released their long awaited EP, Hell: The Sequel, which featured the Bruno Mars assisted double platinum-selling single, “Lighters,” and the gold certified single, “Fast Lane.

With 2011 behind him, 2012 looks to be even brighter with the upcoming release of OUR HOUSE, his second offering via Shady Records, but this time with his super group, SLAUGHTERHOUSE. Royce exclaims, “I’ve been a solo artist for the majority of my career so to enjoy so much success as a member of both BME and Slaughterhouse feels surreal.” Read more…
