The fight over Michael Jackson’s children and estate has turned into a messy mess of an affair, with accusations of mama kidnapping, auntie slap boxing, brothers turning against sisters and cousins “rescuing” cousins, culminating with Katherine Jackson losing custody of Paris, Prince and Blanket, the children the King Of Pop willed her to take care of when he died.
Word is Katherine, no doubt shook by Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff’s order that Tito’s son, TJ Jackson, get temporary custody of Michael’s children, is back at her Calabasas estate after disappearing for an almost two week-long “visit” at daughter Rebbie’s Arizona home, where she’s been hanging with Janet, Jermaine and Randy—playing Uno and, according to her children, following her doctor’s orders to “rest.” Katherine is vowing through attorneys that she’ll fight to get the kids back into her care. 1. Describe the Montreal Hip-Hop scene and how your contribution will make it even bigger than it is.
The Montreal Hip Hop scene is in the process of growth. I can see a huge difference between its current state, and its past. Unfortunately, Hip Hop shows are constantly being banned which makes it harder for people like to me work, however no one said this would be easy. I somewhat prefer it that way. My contribution will not be denied. “All roads lead to home” at the end of the day, it’s just about finding that ulterior route, and hitting them when they least expect it.
2. In this current age of music, it’s now a given to ‘give away’ an album or ‘mixtape’ to the fans when, in the past, artists tried in vain, to stop leaks of their music. Why do you think that has changed and how does it benefit the artists’ bottom line? Read more…
Arrested Development Celebrates 20 Years & Still On A Mission –
August 6, 2012 – A Free Album And A Feature on TV One’s UnSung
(July 25, 2012 – Atlanta, GA) – It’s been exactly 20 years since Arrested Development (AD) bursted upon the scene with a trailblazing debut album, “3 years, 5 months & 2 days in the life of…” – Hip-Hop music mixed with soul, blues and funk. The group coined their style “Life Music,” music that would win 2 Grammy awards in 1993 for Best Rap Single (Tennessee) and the coveted ‘Best New Artist’, which AD is the first and last in the Hip-Hop genre to win. NAACP & Don Cornelius’ Soul Train awarded them as well with Rolling Stone Magazine crowning AD Band of the Year and VH-1 named AD one of the Greatest Hip-Hop Artists of All Time.
True legends in the game, they opened the doors for groups like – The Fugees, Goodie Mob, OutKast, Erykah Badu, India Irie, The Roots & Black Eyed Peas encompassing a mix of men and women with consciousness, melody & live musicality. There was a time when rappers weren’t accepted singing. It could be argued that without Dionne Farris’ soaring vocals on Tennessee, would the world have received the young Lauryn Hill crooning on hip-hop songs like “Killing Me Softly”?
