RAY J & THE SECRET SUNDAYZ EXPERIENCE HOSTED A VIDEO RELEASE PARTY FOR “UPSIDE DOWN” LAROO FEAT. TRINA &TOO SHORT

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usE-40’s artist, Laroo took center stage at Secret Sundayz, Hollywood’s only “hip-hop nightclub with a strip club touch,” for a star-studded party Sunday night celebrating the video release for his hot single “Upside Down” featuring Too $hort and Trina. Singer Ray J presented the evening of good music and beautiful women, co-hosted by model and rapper Wankaego, marking her inaugural appearance on the West Coast. The event was held at Key Club in Hollywood, located at 9039 West Sunset Boulevard.

Surrounded by friends and supporters, Laroo partied like a rockstar until 4 a.m., shutting down the club with Ray J,  Matt Barnes, Mann, 1500 Or Nothin and company. Celebrity DJ Mark Da Spot (BET’s 106th & Park), Dre Sinatra (Ray J’s Knockout Ent. Tour), MC Rock and MC Jaybyrd spun the hottest in hip-hop all night long. “Last night was full of energy, the Secret Sundayz experience is epic,” says LaRoo.

Secret Sundayz has become the premiere destination for celebrity athletes, actors, artists, and business executives, prompting rap stars The Game and Ab-Soul to mention the hot spot in recent songs. Creators Gee of Disphunktional Clothing, Jason Robinson and Marquis Diamond, launched the exotic nightlife event after noticing a lack of Los Angeles strip clubs with a nightclub style. Celebrities such as Young Jeezy, Lynn Whitfield, Tatyana Ali, Evan Ross, Columbus Short, Brooke Bailey, Draya, Twi$ta, Suge Knight and professional athletes such as Warren Sapp, Terrell Owens, Mike Williams, Terrell Suggs, Josh Portis, and James Harding, have attended the weekly event.

As supporters of local talent, trailblazers Gee, Robinson and Diamond use the successful event to provide a place for both upcoming and established artists to perform. “We represent the West Coast and we give all of our local artists a platform. We put our artists first, after the girls of course,” said Robinson with a smile. Hip Hop star Future chose Secret Sundayz as his first performance venue on the West Coast, joining a list of notable artists who have taken the stage including Dom Kennedy, Nipsey Hussle, YG, Fanatics, Joe Moses, Cartie Tha Plug, Kevin McCall, Roscoe Dash and Genesis.

No other Hollywood entertainment spot can provide what Secret Sundayz does for its clientele, explained Diamond. “A lot of these artists and athletes that travel from the South and the Midwest feel comfortable in the element we create, because it’s normal back home for them. LA clubs are not their comfort zone,” he said. “They can be comfortable here without being pressured to put up a persona for fans who want a photograph.”

With between up to 1,000 guests on any given night, two levels of entertainment surrounding center stage, and live performances from the hottest artists and DJs, Secret Sundayz exceeds expectations every week. “I’m proud to see what it has transformed into. It’s turned into something bigger than what I initially imagined,” said Gee.

Secret Sundayz fans can soon rock the moniker wherever they go with a new clothing line to be released soon. Follow @SecretSundayzLA on Twitter for news and upcoming events.
