Chicago, IL (April 21, 2014) – The Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation will host a dynamic evening of inspiration, entertainment and more when founders Steve and Marjorie Harvey usher in their 2014 gala in Chicago on May 3, 2014. A vital call to action marking their fourth gala event and first time in Chicago, The Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation Gala will be hosted by Steve Harvey and NBC Chicago’s Michelle Relerford, at the Hilton Chicago to impact the future of young men and women nationwide. Leading the charge for the evening with the Power of Three experience: Potential, Passion and Purpose, The Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation Gala will feature the acclaimed song stylings of Grammy-nominated artist KEM, and honor Pastor Corey Brooks, Cookie Johnson and Earvin “Magic” Johnson, Walgreens’ Steve Pemberton, and Screen Gems’ Clint Culpepper, with support from Influence Sponsor Coca-Cola, Empower Sponsor State Farm, Motivate Sponsors Essence, Neiman Marcus, Premiere Networks, Morgan Stanley, and more.

Recognizing this year’s honorees for their immeasurable community service and influential leadership, activist/Pastor Corey Brooks (New Beginnings Church Chicago), philanthropists Cookie and Magic Johnson (Magic Johnson Foundation), executive/author Steve Pemberton (Walgreens, Chief Diversity Officer) and executive Clint Culpepper (Screen Gems, President) will be presented with The Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation’s “Helping Hand Award.” This year, The Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation Gala invokes attendees to experience the Power of Three: Potential, Passion and Purpose, serving the mission to empower youth through mentoring and powerful experiences to unlock their potential, realize their passion and become the next generation of purposeful leaders.

 

Establishing holistic programs, enriching service initiatives, scholarships and more, TV/radio host and best-selling author Steve Harvey and wife Marjorie Harvey’s philanthropic calling to serve fatherless children and unmet needs of youth today have impacted thousands of young men and women through the creation of The Steve Harvey Mentoring Program for Young Men and the Girls Who Rule the World Mentoring Program. In a few short years since The Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation began their signature mentoring experiences, their interactive regional and national programs, scholarship offerings, and support of programs that enhance youth development have continued to empower young men and women around the country from their teens, into college and beyond.
