MC LYTE’S HIP HOP SISTERS FOUNDATION PARTNERS WITH BET NETWORKS, SOUL TRAIN HOLDINGS AND DILLARD UNIVERSITY TO PRESENT THE HIP HOP SISTERS EXPERIENCE AND ANNOUNCE #EDUCATEOURMEN SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS DURING SOUL TRAIN AWARDS WEEKEND

LOS ANGELES, CA – November 6, 2014 – After the monumental success of MC Lyte’s new release, “Dear John” featuring Common, which serves as the official anthem of Hip Hop Sisters Foundation’s #EducateOURMen scholarship initiative, MC Lyte, Chair and Founder, along with President and CEO, Lynn Richardson, and Executive Director, Monica Newman McCluney, will team up with BET Networks, Soul Train and Dillard University to announce the first of many scholarship recipients during the Soul Train Music Awards red carpet pre-show in Las Vegas, Nevada on Friday November 7, 2014.  In addition, for the second year in a row, the foundation will feature MC Lyte, Nicci Gilbert and a few surprise celebrity guests at it’s Women, Wealth and Relationships Forum sponsored by Creme of Nature (www.hiphopsister.org/tickets).

“I am excited to partner with BET Networks, Soul Train Holdings and Dillard University to provide numerous young men of color with supplemental need-based scholarships to attend Dillard University and am looking forward to speaking to the women of Las Vegas during our Women, Wealth and Relationships Forum” says MC Lyte.

“Our goal has been to create programs that empower women and youth all over the world,” says Lynn Richardson. “It is a great honor to be able to now support young men by bridging the gap between the number of African American men and women who attend and graduate from college. This is a very exciting weekend for Hip Hop Sisters Foundation.”

On Saturday November 8th, MC Lyte, Nicci Gilbert and a few surprise guests, along with Lynn Richardson, celebrity financial coach and COO of MC Lyte’s enterprise, Sunni Gyrl, Inc., will discuss women’s top three issues: their partner, their pocket book and their purpose at the Orleans Arena. This funny, enlightening, and conversation-oriented Q&A format educational forum will entertain audience members as surprise celebrity guests share their down-to-earth and sometimes off-the-cuff money and relationship stories. The forum is FREE to participants and will take place at the Orleans Arena in the Box Office Lobby from 2pm to 4pm. Guests can register for this motivating forum at www.hiphopsisters.org/tickets or www.hiphopsisters.info.
