Wilson Moves to Motown Gospel
(Houston, TX – April 7, 2014) – Mathew Knowles, President and CEO of Music World Entertainment has released Brian Courtney Wilson from his recording contract with Music World Gospel. Wilson moved to his new label home, Motown Gospel, effective, April 4, 2014.
As Knowles restructures Music World Entertainment and its Gospel division, he is making it a priority to help continue the growth of the artists that were signed to the label. “Brian is an exceptionally gifted artist with a unique vocal style,” says Knowles. “When I first saw him sing at church, I wanted to sign him immediately. I know that Brian will continue to have great success with his music and ministry. And Motown Gospel is a perfect fit for him.”
Music World Gospel Releases Le’Andria Johnson from Her Recording Contract
The Label Was Instrumental in New Signing
(Houston, TX – April 1, 2014) – Music World Gospel has released Le’Andria Johnson from her recording contract. Effective, April 1, 2014, Johnson was signed to RCA Inspiration Music Group.
Mathew Knowles, President and CEO of Music World Entertainment was instrumental in helping Johnson land the new label deal. “As Music World Gospel continues to move forward, I wanted to ensure that Le’Andria would have the very best opportunity to match her successes and further her talents and gifts as recording artist,” says Knowles. “I am happy that she is with one of the leading companies in the gospel industry. Music World Gospel recording artist and BET’s Sunday Best’s Season 3 first runner-up will release his debut solo CD project, The Best of Elder Goldwire McLendon on April 24, 2012. At 81 years old, McLendon is the oldest American contemporary solo artist signed to a record deal.
The spirited and charismatic McLendon has been singing for seven decades. Prior to his journey as a contestant on Season 3 BET’s Sunday Best, where he was first-runner-up to Le’Andria Johnson, he has been ministering to people in song and words in his native Florida and Philadelphia.
McLendon’s testimony is an inspiration to millions. “When I received a call that Mathew Knowles wanted to sign me to Music World Gospel,” says McLendon. “My daughter and I were stomping on the floor, and holding our mouths because we wanted to scream. I carried on and she did too.”

Music World Gospel entered into an exclusive recording agreement with BET Networks and its premiere brand, Sunday Best, the award-winning weekly gospel music competition program. The agreement will include the release of debut albums for the show’s third and fourth season winners and other music and entertainment product releases featuring “best of” compilations and a variety of specialty brand projects. Sunday Best season four premiered Sunday, July 10 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.
The first release scheduled under the new agreement is Sunday Best’s third season winner, Le’Andria Johnson. Her debut project, The Awakening of Le’Andria Johnson will be released on September 6, 2011. Le’Andria’s new single, “Jesus,” produced by GRAMMY® Award winner Chuck Harmony (Rihanna, Fantasia, Chrisette Michele), will impact radio on July 25. Read more…
Mathew Knowles and Music World Gospel Present an ESSENCE Music Festival Superlounge Showcase at the Louisiana Superdome on Sunday, July 3. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and showtime is at 7:00 p.m.
The showcase features artists on the Music World Gospel roster, including Trin-i-tee 5:7, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Brian Courtney Wilson and Micah Stampley. The event will be hosted by Pastor Rudy Rasmus, Music World Gospel Ambassador, and host of SIRIUS XM Satellite Radio’s new show, “Pastor Rudy’s Love Revolution.”
