— African American Interns Wanted For 2014 Summer White House Internship Program; Deadline to Apply is March 15 —

Washington, DC (BlackNews.com) — The White House Initiative’s Year-round Internship Program provides current undergraduate and graduate students with an opportunity to learn about African American-focused education policy, communications, and outreach at the U.S. Department of Education in Washington, D.C.

Until March 15, 2014, the program will be accepting applications for summer interns. Their responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Collecting and compiling research and data on African American education, institutions and communities; Performing data entry and managing the office database; Greeting and escorting visitors to meetings; Participating in strategic planning and staff meetings and other Department policy briefings and meetings relevant to the work of the Initiative; Responding to constituent inquiries verbally or in writing; and more. Los Angeles, CA (BlackNews.com) — Rapper Snoop Dogg has announced that he is searching for a new intern to help out with his non-profit organization, the Snoop Youth Football League.

“I need an intern for a day in LA, who wants to join me? All ya gotta do is help me support the Snoop Youth Football League for inner-city children, and you’ll be entered to win. Black Women’s Magazine Seeks Interns

SISTER 2 SISTER MAGAZINE SEEKS FALL AND SPRING INTERNS FOR 2013/14

Nationwide(BlackNews.com) — Sister 2 Sister Magazine, a monthly four-color print and online magazine for urban African-American women, is now accepting interns for two of their programs – The Editorial Internship program and the Digital Media Internship program.

Both internships are available to college students whose course of study allows college credit for working in a journalism environment. The student must implement arrangements for credit, including reports to instructors.

Expectations for the Editorial Internship include: Assisting editors with duties such as reviewing transcripts and video footage, fact checking, researching, transcribing and reporting. Interns will learn valuable lessons about how a publication is put together, including research, writing, learning how to meet prompt deadlines and how to deliver multimedia content. Read more…
